Yumthang Valley / युमथांग घाटी

        Yumthang Valley is surrounded by the Himalayan mountains in the North Sikkim district of Sikkim. Located at a distance of 150 km from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Yumthang Valley is also known as the Valley of Flowers. Here, flowers of red, orange, violet, yellow and white colors are seen. Yumthang Valley is closed from December to March due to heavy snowfall. There is a hot spring near this valley, bathing in which cures skin diseases because sulfur is mixed in this water.

          युमथांग घाटी सिक्किम के उत्तर सिक्किम ज़िले में हिमालय पर्वतों से घिरा हुआ है। सिक्किम की राजधानी गंगटोक से 150 किमी की दूरी पर स्थित है। युमथांग घाटी को फूलों की घाटी भी कहा जाता. है, यहाँ लाल, नारंगी, बैगनी, पीले और सफेद रंग के फूल देखने को मिल जाते हैं।भारी बर्फबारी के कारण युमथांग घाटी को दिसम्बर से मार्च के बीच में बंद कर दिया जाता है। इस घाटी के पास ही गर्म पानी का झरना है जिसमें नहाने से त्वचा की बीमारियाँ ठीक हो जाती है क्योंकि इस पानी में सल्फर मिला हुआ होता है।

Rumtek Monastery / रूमटेक मठ

             Rumtek Monastery is located at a distance of 24 kilometers from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. This monastery is about three hundred years old. Rumtek is considered to be the oldest Buddhist monastery in Sikkim. This monastery was reconstructed in the year 1960s. The monastery has a school and a separate section for meditation and meditation. In this monastery, valuable thanga paintings and many items related to the Kagyupa sect of Buddhism are kept in a safe condition. The early morning prayers offered by Buddhist monks at the Rumtek Monastery are very loud.

            रूमटेक मठ सिक्किम की राजधानी गंगटोक से 24 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। यह मठ लगभग तीन सौ वर्ष पुराना है। रूमटेक सिक्किम का सबसे पुराना बौद्ध मठ माना जाता है। वर्ष 1960 के दशक में इस मठ का पुननिर्माण किया गया था। मठ में एक विद्यालय तथा ध्यान और साधना के लिए एक अलग खण्ड है। इस मठ में बहुमूल्य थंगा पेंटिग तथा बौद्ध धर्म के कग्यूपा संप्रदाय से संबंधित अनेक वस्तुएँ सुरक्षित अवस्था में रखी हुई है। रूमटेक मठ में सुबह के समय बौद्ध भिक्षुओं द्वारा की जाने वाली प्रार्थना बहुत-ही कर्णप्रिय होती है।

Tashi Ling / ताशी लिंग

        Tashi Ling is one of the major tourist places in Sikkim.  It is situated at a distance of six kilometers from the main city Gangtok.  A beautiful view of the Kangchenjunga range is visible from this place.  The Buddhist monastery here is mainly famous for a sacred vessel called 'Bumchu'.  It is believed that 'boomchu' holds holy water, which has been in it for 300 years, and has not dried up yet.

           ताशी लिंग सिक्किम के प्रमुख पर्यटन स्थलों में से एक है। यह मुख्य शहर गंगटोक से छ: किलोमीटर की दूरी पर स्थित है। इस स्थान से कंचनजंघा श्रेणी का बहुत सुंदर दृश्य दिखाई देता है। यहाँ का बौद्ध मठ मुख्य रूप से एक पवित्र बर्तन, जिसे 'बूमचू' कहा जाता है, के लिए प्रसिद्ध है। यह माना जाता है कि 'बूमचू' में पवित्र जल रखा हुआ है, जो कि 300 वर्षों से इसमें है, और अभी तक नहीं सूखा है।

Somgo Lake / सोमगो झील

         Somgo Lake This lake is located 40 km from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Somgo Lake is also known as Changu Lake and Songmo Lake. It is surrounded by snowy hills from all sides. The lake is one kilometer long and 50 feet deep. In the month of April, Somgo Lake completely turns into ice. Due to security reasons, this lake cannot be visited for more than an hour. Many exotic birds come to the Somago Lake to migrate during the winter. Only one road goes beyond this lake. This road continues till Nathula Pass. This road is not open to the general public. But with the permission of the army, it can be reached here.

         सोमगो झील सिक्किम की राजधानी गंगटोक से 40 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर यह झील स्थित है।सोमगो झील को चंगु झील और सोंगमो झील के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। यह चारों ओर से बर्फीली पहाड़ियों से घिरी हुई है। झील एक किलोमीटर लंबी तथा 50 फीट गहरी है। अप्रैल महीने में सोमगो झील पूरी तरह बर्फ में तब्दील हो जाती है। सुरक्षा कारणों से इस झील को एक घंटे से अधिक देर तक नहीं घूमा जा सकता है। ठण्ड के समय में सोमगो झील में प्रवास के लिए बहुत से विदेशी पक्षी आते हैं। इस झील से आगे केवल एक सड़क जाती है। यही सड़क आगे नाथुला दर्रे तक जाती है। यह सड़क आम लोगों के लिए खुली नहीं है। लेकिन सेना की अनुमति लेकर यहां तक जाया जा सकता है।
