डुमस बीच का इतिहास 

अरब सागर से लगा हुआ यह बीच सूरत से 21 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर है। यहां की रेत सफेद नहीं बल्कि काली होती है। इस बीच का इतिहास किसी राजा या रानी की प्रेम कथा से नहीं जुड़ा है, लेकिन हां लोगों का मानना है कि सदियों पहले यहां पर भूत-प्रेतों ने अपना गढ़ बना लिया और इसीलिये यहां की रेत काली हो गई। हां एक बात जरूर है कि इस बीच से लगा हुआ शव दाह ग्रह है। यहां पर लाशें जलायी जाती हैं। लोगों का मनना है कि जिन लोगों को मोक्ष प्राप्त नहीं होता है, या जिनकी असमय मृत्यु हो जाती है, उनकी रूह इस बीच पर बसेरा कर लेती है। 

क्या कहते है स्थानीय लोग 

इस जगह के बारे में पूछा तो उन्होंने कहा, मैं दो बार ही डुमस बीच गया। वहां अपने दोस्तों के साथ रात को थोड़ा समय भी बिताया। पहली बार रात बितायी तो मुझे ऐसा लगा कि कोई वहां समुद्र किनारे बैठा रो रहा है। सिसकने की आवाज़ सुनायी दी। चूंकि हमने पहले से इस जगह के बारे में सुन रखा था, तो हम तुरंत वहां से वापस चले आये

और लोगो से बात की हमने तो , करीब आठ महीने बाद दूसरी बार गया, तो मुझे ऐसा कुछ नहीं लगा कि वहां भूत-प्रेत हैं। वैसे सच बताऊं लोगों ने इस जगह के बारे में कुछ ज्यादा ही अंधविश्वास फैल रखा है। इंसान न चाहते हुए भी डर जाये।

लोगो ने कोरा पर इस जगह के बारे में लिखा कि वो वहां पर कई बार गये, लेकिन कभी कोई भूत प्रेत की आवाज नहीं सुनायी दी। और एक आदमी लिखते हैं, मैं इस जगह पर 500 से ज्यादा बार जा चुका हूं, मुझे कभी कोई भूत नहीं मिला।
